PMC Meeting 10/10/17

The Palais  Management Committee meet the 2nd Tuesday monthly. Community  are welcome to observe or address the committee (with notice). Please use the General Enquiry Form to notify the PMC of your intent. NB in September the meeting is on the 5th due to the AGM being on the 12th.

Friends of the Palais

The Franklin Palais is now over 100 years old and needs lots of assistance to maintain her glory and keep her functional for the community to enjoy. Friends of the Palais is a new group set up to encourage locals to become involved with the Palais in an informal way. Investing what time they have to give without formal commitment. The Franklin Palais Collective

The Franklin Collective has now closed as the coordinator is moving on, the Palais will consider proposals for similar use of the Library in the Palais,  For EOI please contact us via the general enquiry form

New Bar Tables

At the request of regular hirers, the PMC have purchased 5 new folding bar tables as a trial. These tables will be available for Palais room hires only. They are perfect for supper room functions and to create and intimate performance space in the main hall. At this stage our current chairs will be used with them. We look forward to feed back on their usefulness.

The Little Boat Choir

The Little Boat Choir, who make the Franklin Palais its home, meet every Wednesday night during school term for rehearsals in the supper room at 7.30 pm. contact Tiffany Eckhardt on 0409 896 877. Currently on a break till the 2nd of August 2017.

 

Memorial Services

The Palais has put together a package that can be used by funeral directors or directly by the community. This includes;

  • Hall hire
  • Insurance
  • Use of the cinema projector (technical assistance provided if required).
  • Use of the sound system
  • Heating.

Please speak to your funeral director if this is suitable for you.

The Market @ Franklin

Last Sunday of the month at the historic Franklin Palais theatre, 9am – 1pm all year round @ Palais Theatre, Franklin selling fresh local produce, food, plants and crafts from the Huon Valley. Breakfast, refreshments and great coffee available.

Weddings are a popular event held at the Palais. The Art Deco grandeur is perfect for your special day as past happy couples have shown.

The Palais a Recording Studio?

There is no end to the Palais’ versatility, The main hall has been regularly booked by a production company to record a band!
