A new electric vehicle charging bay has been installed at the Palais theatre and is available for use 24 hours per day. This service is currently offered on a no fee basis to users.
The Heart Collectors performed live at the Palais to a very appreciative audience on January 19, 2018 along with a special guest – Famous Will.
This award-winning documentary was shown at the Palais Theatre on 8 December to a very appreciative audience of over 100 local residents.
November 2017 saw a new experience for the Palais. A flower master class! This resulted in some amazing floral sculptures from attendees.
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra brass band played to an appreciative crowd at the Franklin Palais on Thursday, 9 November, 2017 and the night was a great success for all involved.
The Palais Management Committee meet the 2nd Tuesday monthly. Community are welcome to observe or address the committee (with notice). Please use the General Enquiry Form to notify the PMC of your intent. NB in September the meeting is on the 5th due to the AGM being on the 12th.
The Palais has put together a package that can be used by funeral directors or directly by the community. This includes;
- Hall hire
- Use of the cinema projector (technical assistance provided if required).
- Use of the sound system
Please speak to your funeral director if this is suitable for you.
The Franklin Palais is now over 100 years old and needs lots of assistance to maintain her glory and keep her functional for the community to enjoy. Friends of the Palais is a new group set up to encourage locals to become involved with the Palais in an informal way. Investing what time they have to give without formal commitment. Weddings are a popular event held at the Palais. The Art Deco grandeur is perfect for your special day as past happy couples have shown.
